Case 1.

A pre-retired woman, a dentist, applied to me because of eczema of her fingers and acute condition of chronic gastroduodenitis. Appeal to Homeopathy was caused by the inefficiency of numerous courses of traditional treatment, and fear that she will have to refuse from her dental practice because of eczema. The first conversation with the patient made me feel that her psychological profile had not been disclosed. In a few weeks of treatment no positive dynamics was observed. This forced me to start a more targeted survey.

I asked her, “What are you like?” Her answer was short, “I am a bitch”. Appointment of the homeopathic remedy on the basis of this physical characteristic of the patient solved somatic problems almost in a week!

Case 2.

In the summer of 1995 a woman of 28 years old asked me for help. She came and said, “Doctor, you are my last hope. I have two children, but my illness has already tortured me and my family so much that my mother and my husband told me, “You’d better die”.

The patient was not tall, dark-haired, dark-skinned, and thin. During the last 7 years periodic rashes on the skin of the body, arms, legs were troubling her. During the last 2 years, despite continuous treatment with all possible antihistamines and corticosteroids, the disease was progressing especially rapidly. In the past 6 months, in addition to skin rashes and apparent (“terrible” from the words of the patient) itching, the swelling of her face and neck as well as attacks of breathlessness accompanied by fear of death began to disturb her in the morning. These conditions could be stopped only via parenteral introduction of high doses of prednisolone, so every day it was necessary to call the ambulance.

The patient was irritable and nervous all her life. However, in recent months she was raising her voice on any occasion more often; she noted despair, fear, more often in the evening. She suffered from insomnia because of the flow of thoughts. She often had nightmares. Her skin rashes appeared periodically, for no apparent reason, and got worse when undressing, especially in those parts of the body where clothes are tight. She was disturbed by frequent ineffectual urges to defecate, bitterness in the mouth, and pain in the right upper quadrant. Her appetite was very bad. 1-2 hours after eating she felt pressure (“like a stone”) in the stomach. Everlasting weakness and lack of ability to work made her think of suicide, and, at the same time, she had a pronounced fear of death.

The family history - gastrointestinal diseases, hypertension, alcoholism.

Homeopathic treatment was prescribed. During her next visit (meeting in 2 weeks), the patient said that after the first dose of the remedy her skin rashes began to disturb much less, the intensity of itching also reduced. In a month there was no need for the emergency services, because neither swelling nor asthma disturbed her. The patient gradually stopped taking antihistamines and corticosteroids. Other complaints listed above also disappeared.

Homeopathic treatment was taken during a year. Then she did not ask for help.

10 years passed. In 2004, she consulted a homeopath again - this time there was a problem with her grandson. When she was asked about her allergies during these years, she answered with a happy grateful smile that allergy had not troubled her any more. The patient simply forgot about it. Today both the patient and her family think of those days “like a nightmare and don’t believe that this could be but has gone”.

Analysis of the medical history of other patients has also shown sufficient effectiveness and safety of homeopathic therapy for curing atopic dermatitis as well as allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma (catamnesis from 10 to 3 years).

In recent years, in Ukraine much attention has been paid to the problem of atopic diseases. Cooperation of dermatologists, pediatricians, immunologists, allergists in this area is growing. We agree that this problem can be solved only through interdisciplinary collaboration. However, due to high efficiency of classical homeopathy in the treatment of such patients, it should be assumed that more active participation of homeopathic doctors in the council of physicians could significantly optimize solving the problem of prevention and treatment of atopic diseases.
